NUMEV (Solutions Numériques, Matérielles et Modélisation pour l'Environnement et le Vivant) is part of the framework being developed as the Montpellier site's excellence initiative focusing on Man in a changing environment. 
NUMEV seeks to harmonize the approaches of hard sciences and life and environmental sciences in order to pave the way for an emerging interdisciplinary group with an international profile. Developing the "Research‐Education‐ Transfer" vitality that leads to the creation of innovative companies will contribute to the main scientific, technical, and economic changes of interfaces in the Information Technology field of activity and in agronomy, environment, biodiversity, and health (Assistance to patient and motor deficient people: neuro‐prostheses, medical robotics, "embedded" physiological sensors.
NUMEV is one of the 100 Excellence Laboratories (LABEX - Laboratoire d’excellence) in France.
